2019 Indoor Volleyball Season

What: The 2019 volleyball season will consist of the 4 core divisions along with a few additions (numbers permitting);

  • Men’s and Women’s Premier League. This is the elite division of volleyball in our region, ranging from school country week teams through to the volleyball “tragics”. This is the division if a good competitive game of volleyball is what your looking for
  • Mixed A League. This division is no less competitive then the premier league. Teams consist of both women and men playing on a mens height net.
  • Mixed B League. This is for the less experienced volleyball players, still competitive, but less strict in the rules. Like the Mixed competitive League the team consists of both women and men.
  • Junior League. A division for students  from year 7 through to year 12. Divisions within this league are subject to numbers, e.g. lower school & upper school. Please contact your schools physical education department to register interest.
Nominations: This year sees the AVA take an automated move towards team nominations. In conjunction with Volleyball WA,  the AVA have worked on a process for members to be able to register membership with VWA, nominate a team into the AVA league and also pay online.
When: PROPOSED SEASON START 8th MAY 2019
Where: ALBANY LEISURE AND AQUATIC CENTRE, 52-70 Barker Rd, Centennial Park WA 6330. [Map]

State Tournaments

State Country Championships

TBC – Mandurah

State Country Championships has been moved to the long weekend in September. This allowing regional associations to train a and develop teams for a GRAND FINALE tournament in Perth. The AVA usually sends away a mens and womans team to represent our region.

Collie Coal Cup

1st weekend of August – Collie

The Collie Coal Cup is the last volleyball tournament on the calendar and teams usually take this as a less serious tournament. That still doesn’t mean the volleyball is at a good level. Again Albany usually sends a mens and womans team. And have done quite well in previous years. If you are interested in more information fill out the contact form.
